Contact Zonies Agility Club honor the memory of Pat Stauber.
Pat Aloe-Stauber
Our friend and Contact Zonie Founder member has died. Pat was a very active member of
the club when there were very few members to support it, she could turn her hand
and talents to any job and she did them all.
During her time as Equipment Manager she created some unique pieces, some of the
Wing Jumps are still with us in the form of Cacti and Dogs. As a former Art Teacher Pat was
very creative, she designed the club Logo and had Tee shirts and watches made to
help raise funds, she made jewelry for awards in USDAA. Although Canine Obedience is
not a Zonie activity, Pat and her dogs competed at high levels in AKC
Competition and she shared her knowledge and training tips with anyone having
training issues with their dogs. She
opened her home for club meetings and activities when needed and when our
numbers were small, she hosted our show judges when club funds were too low to
provide for lodging and food, without her Zonies would not be the vibrant club
it has grown to be.
Pat embraced new and “cool” things, whether it was in clothing, gadgets,
hairstyles, medicine or technology, Pat embraced it and stayed up with the
times. If her physical health
had allowed it, she would still have been active in the agility arena, and in
musical Canine Freestyle, unfortunately in recent years even keeping up in the
Obedience ring was difficult for her, but she never stopped supporting the
causes that she was passionate about.
Pat being Pat, she has probably stopped in at the Rainbow Bridge and visited with the canine friends we all miss so much.
Pat will be remembered and missed.
