Contact Zonies Agility Club and the canine community
honor the memory of R. D. Blankenship.
R.D. never ran in an Agility Trial, but he was a major influence in how the club ran a trial. R.D got things done, whether it was physical labor needed to set up a field, advice about equipment, organizing skill to move forward on many things, Zonies had R D. He and Judy built an incredible dog friendly home and training site for their Irish Setters, and they shared this “space” with their friends. R. D. welcomed all who came to train and visit there. R D was a key person who helped to provide training sites for the club in several locations, in earlier days when the club used park facilities to practice, R D marked out the field and setup full lighting and brought lots of advice! He led the club to procure more permanent future sites and ensured that the work projects undertaken were completed. The list is long, however, suffice to say that R D’s efforts on behalf of dogs and their people will not be forgotten.
R.D. contributed so much to a grateful canine community, he is truly missed, but his memory and spirit will continue to support the causes he was passionate about.
